We have big things to look forward to when it comes to the NBA Finals – and if Game 1's thrilling finish is any indication, we could be in for an all-time showdown.
But while the Indiana Pacers have the early edge in the best-of-seven series, which team has the most cosmic luck on its side? We consulted with celebrity astrologer Kyle Thomas to discuss some of the top players and their astrological potential. Let’s dive into his analysis.
Indiana Pacers astrological analysis
To assess the top two teams, we looked at each teams’ “birth date,” as in to decide which team has a bit more luck on their side at this time.
The Indiana Pacers were founded on Feb. 2, 1967. This makes the team, in their origination, an Aquarius Sun with a Scorpio Moon. Energetically, this is a team that has a bit more focus on communication, teamwork, and community – but with their Scorpio Moon, they are fiercely combative and are “all or nothing” at all times.
Astrologically, at the present time, they are going through a tremendous amount of upheaval as Pluto, planet of transformation, is moving through Aquarius. This is a nearly two decade transit, and while it can lift people to power, it can bring more destruction and a need for radical rebirth – which is why their roster is likely to significantly switch up due to this energy. While they may have a bit more “showmanship” at this time,” with Jupiter granting them a sense around creativity, they do not have quite as much luck as compared to their opposition.
This team must also deal with more challenges when it comes to power struggles and specific players trying to not only dominate their competition—but each other. Because of this, if they are able to balance ego and ultimately work as a unit, rather than simply seeking to take command, they will fare better.
Oklahoma City Thunder astrological analysis
The Oklahoma City Thunder (originally the Seattle SuperSonics) were founded on Dec. 20, 1966. This makes the team, in its origination, a Sagittarius Sun with an Aries Moon. Right away, we can see that this is a team motivated by Fire elemental energy – giving them the passion, spontaneity, and fast-paced vibe needed to take themselves to the top.
Presently, they hold a tremendous amount of luck on their side, with Jupiter, the planet of blessings, standing across the sky from them. This is a once in a twelve-year cycle. Not only this, though, but they are not only going to have a tremendous strength supporting them from their fan base, but also when it comes to the general public.
A team born with a Sagittarius Sun often can be found to be impulsive, vibrant, but also a bit reckless at times, too. With an Aries Moon, they “act first, think later” and are blessed with a great degree of warrior mentality.
When looking at key players from each team, we can see that each team has a variety of zodiac signs composing their teams.

The thing that I love most about this team’s composition is that they are very evenly split between Fire and Earth signs, giving them an ability to take action but be hardworking and ambitious. However, with fewer Water signs, they are a less intuitive team, but their perseverance will be very strong.

On a separate note, though, this team has a higher representation of Fire and Water zodiac signs, which does give them an edge when it comes to being passionate for the game, but intrinsically more sensitive, intuitive, and almost “instinctual” when making decisions. They will lean into their “sixth sense” when reading the game.
While the teams do feel very evenly matched in many ways, I do think that the Oklahoma City Thunder has a bit more astrological favor at this time. It may not be this way other years, but because of the lucky blessings of Jupiter, they have a higher likelihood of seeing greater success – however, a shocking win could come from their opposition if they are able to intimidate, dominate, and ultimately strike fear into their opponents harnessing the potent power of Pluto.
