NFL Draft betting odds 2025
All drama surrounding the No. 1 pick in this year's NFL Draft has all but disappeared, as the University of Miami's Cam Ward looks destined to be selected by the Tennessee Titans. DraftKings currently lists Ward's odds at -20000, and the second-favorite, Abdul Carter, is still a significant long shot at +3000.
After that, the NFL Draft odds get a little more interesting. Travis Hunter is projected to get selected second overall, with odds of -900, while Carter is sitting at +550. Without anything locked in for any teams, there's still plenty of time for some of the best college football players in the country to move up or down the board.
For the latest odds and predictions on where other key players will be selected in the NFL Draft, check out our guides to who will select Ashton Jeanty and who will select Shedeur Sanders, as well as the best plus-money bets for the top 8 picks.
NFL Draft odds explained
There are many types of bets available for the NFL Draft, including Pick Number, Draft Position, Draft Matchups, and more. Most of these types of bets will have one or more players with odds of +100 or better, while everyone else will be considered an underdog.
Because the NFL Draft isn't a game, there is often enough information shared within media circles to get a very good sense of who will be picked in the early first round. This means you're unlikely to cash on Carter as the No. 1 pick, even though he's the second favorite, because insiders have all but confirmed the Titans will be selecting Ward.
Choosing an NFL Draft betting site
Not all sportsbooks are created equal when it comes to betting on the NFL Draft. You'll want to make sure that you have taken everything into account to ensure you get the best experience possible.
Legal considerations
Only use one of our best sportsbooks when wagering on the NFL Draft. If you use an offshore sportsbook, then you could end up losing out on your winnings. If this happens, it can be hard to retrieve your funds because offshore sportsbooks aren't regulated.
Make sure you're picking a site that is legal in your state. If there are multiple, consider signing up at more than one sportsbook, as there is no limit to the number of best sportsbook promos you can receive.
User interface
A smooth user experience is one of the most important aspects of selecting the best sportsbook. Our top sportsbooks all have solid user interfaces that are easy to navigate and clearly outline how to bet on the NFL Draft and what markets are available.
Payout speed
Once your bet hits, you'll want to make sure you get paid in a timely fashion. Most sportsbooks will payout within 24 hours. If a sportsbook takes more than a few days to payout, then it may be worth looking elsewhere. Here's a full list of the best online sportsbooks for payouts.
Available markets
Market variety is a key factor in determining where to bet on the NFL Draft. Some sportsbooks will only have basic options such as Pick Number and Top 5, while others will allow you to wager on what position a team will draft with their first pick, who will be chosen first between two players, and more. Shop around and make sure you get the markets you want.
Odds and line shopping
Most of the major sportsbooks offer similar markets, so choosing where to wager comes down to which offers the best odds. Shop around and ensure that the bet you place is at the best available price. For example, Ashton Jeanty may be -150 to be selected by the Las Vegas Raiders at DraftKings, but at FanDuel he may be -130. You'd want to wager at FanDuel to get the best bang for your buck.
Where to bet on the NFL Draft
Like sports betting, wagering on the NFL Draft is not legal in every state. Some states don't allow you to bet on the NFL Draft at all, while others will only allow you to at specific in-person casinos.

NFL Draft betting trends
When betting on the NFL Draft, it's good to know some of the latest trends and how that could impact the draft order this year. Here are three trends you'll want to keep in mind when wagering.
Eight of the Last 10 No. 1 picks are quarterbacks
Since 2015, the first pick in the NFL Draft has been a quarterback eight times. Bryce Young and Caleb Williams were drafted No. 1 overall in back-to-back seasons, and if Ward is selected first, as nearly everyone expects he will be, then that will be three consecutive quarterbacks taken No. 1 overall. Interestingly, the two players selected at No. 1 in the last 10 years who weren't quarterbacks were both defensive ends.
Only 6 running backs have been taken in the top 10 since 2015
If you're thinking about betting Ashton Jeanty to be drafted in the top 10, then it's worth noting that only six running backs have been taken 10th or earlier since 2015. The last one selected in the top 10 was Bijan Robinson in 2023. Most sportsbooks agree that Jeanty will be selected in the top 10, but if teams follow recent trends, he may drop to later in the first round.
Wide receivers are trending upward
In last year's NFL Draft, seven wide receivers were selected in the first round, which tied with 2004 for the most ever. In 2023, only four wide receivers were selected in the first round, but in 2022, there were six. While it's unlikely we see as many drafted in the first round of this year's draft as we did last year, the fact remains that teams are more willing to take chances on receivers in recent seasons. Use this information and consider taking a stab at a long-shot wide receiver to get selected within the first 32 picks.
NFL Draft betting strategies
Having a strategy for the NFL Draft can be the difference between winning and losing. If you open up your favorite sportsbook during the first round, you may find yourself overwhelmed with all that awaits you. This can lead to you betting on markets without reviewing all that is available, or needing to deposit more cash to place extra wagers that you intended to place from the get-go.
Some strategies to consider include betting multiple players to get selected in the top 5 or top 10, and maybe even taking a long shot with a top 10 pick since trades and other unexpected situations occur on Draft Day.
You could also choose to live bet the NFL Draft rather than betting ahead of time. Let's say Cam Ward is selected first overall, but there is a shock at No. 2 and Shedeur Sanders is selected instead of Abdul Carter or Travis Hunter. You could then check out live odds and perhaps find more favorable lines available for the players who dropped, as sportsbooks adjust to what took place.
At the end of the day, there are plenty of ways to make money betting on the NFL Draft, but it all starts with having a plan. Go into the NFL Draft with a strategy, and be willing to adapt to see what works best for you.
