New Jersey iGaming Revenue Increases Over 23% Year-on-Year in March

The real-money online casino sector is booming in New Jersey, while lawmakers debate changing the rules to outlaw sweepstakes casinos.
According to figures released this week, the state saw a 23.7% year-over-year increase in iGaming revenue in March 2025, reaching $243.9 million. Authorized gaming revenue was up 23.9% from last March, while peer-to-peer gaming revenue increased by 8.9%.
FanDuel and DraftKings continue to dominate the legal New Jersey online casino market. FanDuel topped the revenue table with $52.3 million, up 25.7% from last March, and DraftKings recorded revenue of $49.6 million, representing a 20.3% rise.
Some brands showed a significant decline year-on-year. Virgin Casino, which rebranded as Monopoly in November, lost around $0.6 million in revenue, while Tropicana Casino revenue was down 25.9%.
Sweepstakes ban debate
Meanwhile, as the real money casino sector booms, legislators in New Jersey are considering banning sweepstakes casinos. These platforms enable players to buy virtual currency to play casino games, and players can exchange some forms of currency for cash prizes.
Assembly Bill 5447, sponsored by Representative Clinton Calabrese, would ban sweepstakes casinos outright. This follows an earlier attempt this year to overhaul the sector’s regulation, which failed.
Sweepstakes casinos don’t require state-by-state regulation like online casinos, which all require approval from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement. The bill would put them under the oversight of the Division of Consumer Affairs and the Division of Gaming Enforcement.
Speaking against the bill, the Social and Promotional Games Association (SPGA) said that it was a short-sighted piece of legislation that would abandon the state’s progressive approach to gambling, and that contradicts Calabrese’s attempt to regulate the sector earlier this year.
Hard Rock Bet grows New Jersey casino revenues
Another New Jersey brand that enjoyed an excellent year was Hard Rock Bet. Its revenue increased from $9.0 million to $11.8 million year over year, a 31.4% increase.
Hard Rock Bet has steadily increased its online casino library in New Jersey in 2025. The online casino hit the 2,500-game milestone in January, with contributions from 48 developers. It launched with 705 games in August 2023.
The online casino added more games throughout the year, hitting 2,700 games in March. Hard Rock Bet also recently launched its first crash-style game. These regular additions to the game library may explain its improved revenues.
