2026 Masters Odds: Scheffler Opens as Betting Favorite Over McIlroy

Call it a drought. Call it a curse. It's officially over.
Rory McIlroy completed the career grand slam on his 11th try, becoming the sixth golfer to accomplish the feat, after winning his first career green jacket at Augusta National Golf Course. Yet Scottie Scheffler still opened as the betting favorite by the 2026 Masters odds from our best golf betting sites. He'll look to win the Masters for the third time in five years next April.
Let's look at the opening 2026 Masters odds below, along with an assessment of some of the early betting favorites to win at Augusta National Golf Course.

β³ Masters favorites 2026
πΊπΈ Scottie Scheffler
Best odds: +360 via DraftKings ($10 pays $36)
Scheffler finished fourth in this year's Masters and will attempt to win his third green jacket in five years next April.
The World No. 1 was clearly without his best game for much of the week at Augusta National, but he was still able to limit mistakes and produce positive scores.
He'll remain the betting favorite for the next three majors in 2025, as well as the remaining Signature Events, and likely by the FedEx Cup odds. Still, he doesn't warrant an early futures bet at this already-low number. We should see his odds lengthen if McIlroy can add another major title this year.
Rory McIlroy
Best odds: +425 via DraftKings ($10 pays $42.50)
It wasn't easy, but Rory McIlroy is a Masters champion.
His Sunday lead was as large as four strokes and his deficit as large as two. Ultimately, as Bryson DeChambeau collapsed in the final pairing, McIlroy defeated veteran Justin Rose to secure his elusive green jacket.
While I don't foresee Scheffler's early odds shortening - regardless of how many events he wins over the next year - McIlroy's prices could shrink considerably. He quickly became a co-favorite by the PGA Championship odds, and the British Open will be played in his native Northern Ireland. Another major win this year, and another FedEx Cup win, could lead to him becoming the outright Masters favorite by April.

π’ How to read golf odds
Here's how to read golf betting odds using American odds format:
- Positive odds: Positive odds indicate the potential profit on a $100 wager. For example, if a golfer has odds of +300, it means that a $100 bet would yield a profit of $300 if the golfer wins the tournament. So, your total payout would be $400 ($300 profit + $100 original stake).
- Negative odds: Negative odds represent the amount you need to wager to win $100 in profit. For instance, if a golfer has odds of -200, it means that you would need to bet $200 to win $100 in profit if the golfer wins. Your total payout would be $300 ($100 profit + $200 original stake). In a tournament like the Masters, it's unlikely to see negative odds on any golfer until late in Sunday's final round while using our best live betting sites.
Understanding these American odds allows you to quickly assess the potential payout and implied probability of a golfer winning a tournament. Positive odds indicate an underdog, while negative odds signify a favorite.
Odds will move leading up to a tournament's start and throughout the event. Live odds will be reflective of the current leaderboard, golfer performance, and the position of the pre-tournament favorites. The odds also factor in the popularity of certain golfers, and how much money the sportsbooks have taken on those golfers to win the tournament.
