PGA Tour Golf Odds & Picks This Week: RBC Heritage Odds and Harbour Town Preview 2025

Defending tournament champion Scottie Scheffler is the +400 betting favorite by the RBC Heritage odds as the PGA Tour returns to Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton Head, S.C., following the Masters. We're making our best PGA Tour picks to win the Signature Event, with my eyes firmly on Jason Day, ahead of tomorrow's first round.

Scheffler leads the 72-man field to Hilton Head for the PGA Tour's fifth Signature Event out of eight for the 2025 season. This event will feature no cut, and has a $20-million purse. Scheffler leads Collin Morikawa, Xander Schauffele, and more in Rory McIlroy's absence after he completed the career grand slam at Augusta National.

I'd expect to see McIlroy play next week's Zurich Classic of New Orleans with Shane Lowry before beginning his preparations for the year's second major as the new co-favorite by the PGA Championship odds.

🎯 Jason Day

Day finished T-8 in the Masters while ranking second in the field over four rounds with 1.54 strokes gained: around-the-green per round. That's the most important strength at Harbour Town, but it's also promising that he averaged 1.41 SG: tee-to-green and 0.52 SG: putting.

Driving accuracy remains a slight concern for him this season, and he'll need to keep the ball in play at this venue. But he ranks 13th for the PGA Tour season in proximity to the pin on approach shots from 150-175 yards, and that's our key distance this week.

He'll make his eighth career appearance at Harbour Town for the RBC Heritage and comes off a T-18 finish last year. His best result to date was a T-9 in 2011

Given the combination of his course history, playing style, and current odds, Patrick Cantlay offers compelling value for bettors seeking a strong candidate beyond the tournament favorites.

πŸ” Why Cantlay is a strong pick

  1. Exceptional course record: Cantlay has demonstrated remarkable consistency at Harbour Town, making the cut in six of seven appearances. He narrowly missed a playoff in 2023 by one stroke and was a playoff runner-up in 2022. His track record includes four top-three finishes, underscoring his affinity for this course.
  2. Course fit: Harbour Town's design rewards precision over power, emphasizing accuracy off the tee and strategic approach shots. Cantlay's game aligns well with these demands, making him a natural fit for the course's challenges.
  3. Motivation and form: While Cantlay has secured only two top-10 finishes through eight events this season, his consistent performance at Harbour Town suggests a strong opportunity for a breakthrough. The course's familiarity and his past successes here could serve as catalysts for a standout performance.

🏌️ Who's favored to win the RBC Heritage?

Scheffler battled to a fourth-place finish in the Masters. He was clearly without his best game for much of the week and we saw him in parts of Augusta National we hadn't in his previous two victories there.

He'll now attempt to defend yet another title from last year. The No. 1 golfer in the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) has averaged 3.13 true strokes gained on the field across his eight career rounds at Harbour Town.

This is a week where I'd consider a bet on Scheffler as a sort of hedge against any other outright bets I'll make. The +400 odds from BetMGM would return a $40 profit on a winning $10 bet to cover any other losses.
