Best MLB Home Run Prop Bets Today

We whiffed with our best home run prop bets today on Tuesday, and if I were allowed one mulligan it would be picking a different Oakland Athletics beast to go off during the team's 12-3 drubbing of the Chicago White Sox.

Sure, Brent Rooker produced a fine day while going 2-for-4 and reaching base three times. But his teammate Tyler Soderstrom continues to soar while emerging as the early breakout candidate this season. Incredibly, Soderstrom recorded his third two-homer game already, giving him an MLB-leading eight on the season.

Several Athletics hitters are again among those receiving the highest home run projections for today, including Rooker. We lead our home run props with one of them.

A combination of rising young talent and the friendly dimensions of a minor-league home ballpark have contributed to the Oakland Athletics sending a whole lot of baseballs to faraway galaxies.

The Athletics sit fifth leaguewide in homers, with Soderstrom playing a leading role. But Langeliers has been doing his part too with four dingers across 15 games, including one during Oakland's rout of Chicago last night.

That's not a new act from him, though his ascension may be set to reach fresh heights this season. Langeliers smacked 29 homers last year, and he's been consistently hitting for power so far this campaign with an .862 OPS. The catcher's temperature has been rising lately too, with six hits in his last four games, four of which went for extra bases.

He now gets an opportunity to tee off on White Sox starter Jonathan Cannon too (read more about him in Andrew Brennan's best MLB strikeout props). He's coming off a destruction from the Cleveland Guardians, featuring six earned runs, and Cannon has allowed three homers over his last two starts. He gives up plenty of loud contact, with an average exit velocity that sits in just the 23rd percentile, according to Baseball Savant.

📊 Athletics vs. White Sox home run odds

⚾ Freddie Freeman (Dodgers) to hit a home run ⭐⭐⭐

Best odds: +425 via bet365 (bet $10 to win $42.50)

We return to the Dodgers-Rockies series to give this laughably slanted matchup another big ol' homer bear hug. That approach led to a juicy +575 return on a Mookie Betts dinger just two days ago.

Now we're tagging in Freddie Freeman, the lefty masher who sports a shining .959 OPS, though that's based on an even smaller sample size than most after the first baseman missed a bit of time with an ankle issue. Nonetheless, he's been raking since his return, which includes multi-hit outings in three of his eight games.

He unsurprisingly beats up on righties too, and Freeman gets to face one tonight in Colorado's German Marquez. Freeman posted a .905 OPS against righties last season compared to a .759 when facing a southpaw. For his part, Marquez has contributed to the Rockies' 29th-ranked pitching staff with an inability to put away hitters, leading to a putrid 5.7 K/9.

📊 Dodgers vs. Rockies home run odds

⚾ Triston Casas (Red Sox) to hit a home run⭐⭐

Best odds: +500 via bet365 (bet $10 to win $50)

Better days are surely ahead for Triston Casas, who's been struggling to begin this season while slashing .180/.242/.279. But he's perhaps still finding his footing amid heightened regular-season competition after missing time last year due to a rib injury, and then playing hurt for much of the final stretch during the campaign.

We saw what a healthy Casas was capable of in 2023 when he belted 24 homers and finished with an .856 OPS. And now he gets to square off with Zack Littell, the Tampa Bay Rays' starter who's been the medicine a lot of sluggers need.

Littell is among the league leaders in homers allowed while sitting tied for third after giving up five through three starts and just 17 innings. His HR/9 sits at a bloated 2.6, far above the league average last year of 1.1. He's also been beaten up for 12 earned runs across his previous two outings.

📊 Red Sox vs. Rays home run odds

⚾ Kyle Schwarber (Phillies) to hit a home run ⭐⭐⭐

Best odds: +400 via BetMGM (bet $10 to win $40)

As is annually the case, Kyle Schwarber is among the league leaders in home runs while sitting on six, putting him tied for second behind only the apparent machine that is Soderstrom.

With that in mind, it's somewhat surprising to see any of our best MLB betting sites offering him at +400. That's where BetMGM sits, and be sure to make this wager there, as Schwarber's home run odds are far lower at FanDuel (+340) and Caesars (+333).

The enticing price is perhaps a product of Schwarber's brief power downturn. He's still been hitting and reaching base, but the outfielder has gone five games without an extra-base hit.

But that can change swiftly tonight when the slugger opposes Robbie Ray. The lefty and Cy Young winner boasts an imposing fastball and has been highly effective with that pitch. But he's also around the zone plenty, resulting in lots of balls traveling far in the opposite direction.

Ray has allowed 30-plus homers in three seasons. He's already coughed up three this year after two injury-plagued campaigns, leading to a 1.8 HR/9. Worse, his average exit velocity given up (93 mph) sits in the bottom 8% of MLB.
