I'll then move to handicapping the spread, which is always tough in baseball. However, with the Phillies serving as the slightest of underdogs - at least relatively speaking for a team facing the mighty Dodgers - I'll give them a two-run advantage.
Therefore, I predict Philadelphia will beat Los Angeles by a final score of Phillies 5, Dodgers 3.

Harper has displayed an uncharacteristic lack of patience at the plate to start the season, walking only once and striking out six times in his first 27 plate appearances. However, in a game of this magnitude, I think we see the real Harper step to the plate tonight.
Whether it's via free pass or a base hit, I think we'll see Harper on base multiple times against the Dodgers, and then it'll come down to his teammates to drive him in.
Alec Bohm and Max Kepler both have promising projections in terms of their own base hits, so I'm hopeful they won't leave Harper stranded if he can get himself into scoring position for them.
For his part, Harper is projected for 0.72 runs, so we have plenty of data to back up this pick, especially at these tasty +145 odds. Our other best MLB betting sites are hovering around +135.
