The WNBA season is a few weeks out, and there's a new crop of faces entering the league, led by No. 1 pick Paige Bueckers, who's set to suit up for the Dallas Wings.

However, the draft had little impact on the WNBA championship odds, with the New York Liberty, Las Vegas Aces, and Indiana Fever still sitting atop the board at our best sports betting sites.

Similarly, a pair of familiar faces dominate the WNBA MVP odds. While A'ja Wilson took home the honor for a third time last season, Fever star Caitlin Clark has surpassed the Aces' franchise cornerstone on the oddsboard.

🗽 Liberty (+230)

After making the WNBA Finals two year ago and losing to the Aces, Breanna Stewart and Sabrina Ionescu were finally able to bring the Big Apple its first WNBA championship. The Liberty should be positioned well to repeat with those two making up arguably the league's best one-two punch.

The team will also feature Jonquel Jones and Betnijah Laney-Hamilton back to give it a strong third and fourth scoring option. However, these odds are quite short already while paying just a $23 profit on a $10 winning bet, especially with the Aces' trade to bolster their roster.

Best odds: +230 via FanDuel | Implied probability: 30.30%

♠️ Aces (+350)

While the Aces failed to pull off a three-peat after falling to the Liberty in the semifinals, Las Vegas still boasts the best player on the planet in A'ja Wilson. The superstar is coming off her third MVP win, and there's a new Robin to her Batman with the Aces' blockbuster trade.

Las Vegas mainstay Kelsey Plum was shipped to the Los Angeles Sparks in a three-team trade that brings Seattle Storm All-Star Jewell Loyd to Sin City. The six-time All-Star is among the league's best scorers, and she gives the Aces a terrifying trio alongside Wilson and Jackie Young. I'd much rather take Vegas at this price than the Liberty at +230, with a $10 winning bet on the Aces paying a $35 profit.

🌟 Fever (+350)

Clark undoubtedly lived up to her wild hype as a rookie while carrying Indiana to the playoffs. But I don't think taking the Fever at odds this short is a savvy bet given how loaded the Liberty, Aces, and Lynx are in comparison. Betting on Clark to win MVP would be the better play.

While I do envision Indiana improving after going 20-20 last season, and hiring Stephanie White as head coach was a smart decision, the team is probably still a year or two away from competing with the top three teams from last season. That said, re-signing Kelsey Mitchell was a big-time move from the front office.

🤖 WNBA champion AI prediction

For entertainment purposes, we asked ChatGPT, a popular large language model chatbot, to analyze historical trends and WNBA stats before predicting the winner of this year's WNBA championship. Our AI prediction projects the New York Liberty to win the WNBA championship.

🖥️ AI WNBA champion prediction: New York Liberty

🏀 Elite core and depth: The Liberty return their championship-winning nucleus - Stewart, Ionescu, and Jones - and have bolstered their roster with key additions like Natasha Cloud and Isabelle Harrison, enhancing both their offensive and defensive capabilities
🏀 Momentum from historic victory: Securing their first-ever title last year, the Liberty overcame the Minnesota Lynx in a thrilling five-game series, including an overtime victory in the decisive game, showcasing their resilience and championship pedigree
🏀 Motivated leadership: Under head coach Sandy Brondello, the team has developed a cohesive strategy that maximizes their players' strengths and adapts effectively to opponents, positioning them well for another title run

🤔 Betting takeaway: ChatGPT's AI prediction would mean the New York Liberty (+250) repeating as WNBA champions. ChatGPT is a large language model and not specifically designed for predicting sporting events, so these projections should be viewed as entertainment or a supplementary data point for your WNBA championship betting research.

👑 WNBA MVP odds favorites

🌟 Caitlin Clark (+200)

It was a slightly bumpy start to her rookie campaign, but Clark was dominant for the Fever down the stretch last season. The 2024 No. 1 pick ended up leading the WNBA in 3-pointers per game (3.0), assists per game (8.4), and she finished seventh in points per contest (19.2).

Clark should be in the thick of the MVP race if she takes another step forward as a sophomore under White. The narrative is already on the guard's side, which goes a long way in an MVP race in any league, and she's a dominant passer with unlimited 3-point range.

If she can score more frequently and cut back on turnovers, this will be a top-notch MVP race. Heading into the season, it's her award to lose with voter fatigue potentially hurting Wilson.

Best odds: +200 via FanDuel | Implied probability: 33.33%

♠️ A'ja Wilson (+220)

WNBA Championship Odds 2025: Diana Taurasi Retirement Betting Impact

It's hard to bet against Wilson winning her fourth MVP award. The 28-year-old just produced the best statistical season of her career, with career highs in both points per game (26.9, a league high) and rebounds per game (11.9, second-most in the league). Additionally, the Aces look ready to get back to the WNBA Finals with the addition of Loyd.

Still, Wilson could experience a downtick in point production since less will be needed from her, thanks to Loyd joining the team. I could see the combination of voter fatigue and that decrease in production hurting her chances, especially with the hype surrounding Clark ahead of her second season.

Best odds: +220 via FanDuel | Implied probability: 31.25%

🤖 WNBA MVP AI prediction

For entertainment purposes, we asked ChatGPT to analyze historical trends and WNBA stats before predicting the winner of this year's WNBA MVP. Our AI prediction projects A'ja Wilson to win WNBA MVP.

🖥️ AI WNBA MVP champion prediction: A'ja Wilson

🏀 Unmatched dominance: Last year, Wilson delivered a historic season, averaging 26.9 points, 11.9 rebounds, 2.6 blocks, and 1.8 steals per game, and she became just the second unanimous MVP in WNBA history, joining Cynthia Cooper
🏀 Prime performance window: At 28, Wilson is in her athletic prime and continues to refine her game, and her consistent excellence positions her as a central figure in the Aces' pursuit of another championship
🏀 Motivation for legacy: Securing a fourth MVP would make Wilson the first player in WNBA history to achieve this feat, surpassing legends like Lisa Leslie and Sheryl Swoopes, and this milestone serves as a significant motivator for Wilson and her team

🤔 Betting takeaway: ChatGPT's AI prediction would mean A'ja Wilson (+220) repeating as WNBA MVP. ChatGPT is a large language model and not specifically designed for predicting sporting events, so these projections should be viewed as entertainment or a supplementary data point for your WNBA MVP betting research.

📖 How to read WNBA odds

When looking at the WNBA odds for the league championship, it's important to note that the team that is "most likely" to win will have the shortest odds, i.e., the smaller number attached to their name.

For example, the Las Vegas Aces entered the season as an overwhelming favorite with odds between -105 and +110. Those -105 odds imply a 51.22% probability Las Vegas wins it all, but the +110 odds are a better value, with a $10 bet leading to a $9.09 profit.

The longer the odds are, the bigger the profit they'll return if the bet hits. For example, the Indiana Fever entered the year with +2500 odds, so a $10 bet on Indiana to win the championship would result in a $250 profit if Caitlin Clark leads the Fever to the title.

While most books use American odds (like we have), some prefer decimal odds. In that case, you can use our odds converter to see them in the American style.
