After Minnesota ambushed Los Angeles to open the series, our Timberwolves vs. Lakers parlay picks for tonight's Game 2 of the NBA playoffs anticipate a response from the star-studded Lakers lineup.

We're predicting the Lakers to cover the 5.5-point spread as part of our Game 2 same-game parlay based on our best NBA SGP odds. We expect a more involved effort from Luka Doncic in the box score categories beyond his scoring output. We’re also backing Austin Reaves to be a beneficiary of Luka’s higher assist total to cap our three-leg SGP as part of our NBA picks.

Tuesday's game from Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles starts at 10 p.m. ET (TNT).

🔥 1st leg: Lakers -5.5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Lakers have too much talent and too good of a track record at home not to bounce back after their Game 1 loss. Los Angeles is 31-11 outright in home games and has gone 27-15 against the spread at home this season.

After opening at -4.5, L.A. has seen the line move to the same mark it stood for Game 1, with the spread up to -5.5 across our best sports betting sites. The Lakers may need to lean on Luka Doncic and LeBron James facilitating together in the lineup but there’s too much star power here to envision the Lakers falling flat in consecutive home playoff games.

🔥 2nd leg: Luka Doncic Over 6.5 assists ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Luka Doncic was the only Laker to meet expectations in the scoring department in Game 1, but he tallied only one assist in the loss. We’re looking for others to pick up the mantle with Doncic taking on more of a distributor role in what we expect to be a rebound performance for L.A. in Game 2.

Los Angeles’ success is predicated upon Doncic spreading the wealth to his teammates. Since the trade that brought him from Dallas to Los Angeles, the Lakers are just 6-6 when Doncic falls below the 6.5 assists line but are 12-5 when he exceeds that mark.

🔥 3rd leg: Austin Reaves Over 2.5 made 3-pointers ⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is a mark that Austin Reaves hit against Minnesota’s tight perimeter defense, even in Game 1’s wretched showing. Since we’re generally expecting a more well-rounded offensive performance from the Lakers in Game 2, we see Reaves’ 3-point prop as a reasonable target.

He averages 2.7 made 3-pointers per game and has now cleared 2.5 made 3-pointers against Minnesota twice in four games. After launching eight attempts in Game 1, slightly more than his season average of 7.3 per game, we expect a repeat performance from Reaves, which should correlate with Doncic chipping in a higher assists total in this matchup.
