Who Will Draft Travis Hunter? Predicting Colorado Heisman Winner’s NFL Draft Landing Spot

Although Travis Hunter is considered the top prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft, there's almost no way he'll be the first pick on Thursday night at Lambeau Field in Green Bay when the first round begins at 8 p.m. ET (NFL Network, ESPN, ABC).
Though Cam Ward is the clear favorite by the NFL draft odds to hear his name called first by the Tennessee Titans, there isn't much mystery around who will draft Travis Hunter. There is a 90% implied probability that the Heisman winner will be the No. 2 pick in the NFL draft, a pick owned by the Cleveland Browns.

🟤 No. 2 overall pick: Cleveland Browns (-900)
After months of debate around who will draft Shedeur Sanders, it appears that the Browns have settled on taking his teammate with the No. 2 pick. It hadn't been a foregone conclusion that Cleveland general manager Andrew Berry would select the Heisman winner, with both Sanders and Penn State's Abdul Carter being popular prospects linked to the team up until about a month ago.
Since the beginning of April, it's been clear that the Browns, who Berry says view Hunter as a wide receiver first and a cornerback second, will select Hunter. Although there have been recent rumors around teams looking to trade up with Cleveland in hopes of selecting Hunter, the odds available at our best sports betting sites focus on who will be the No. 2 pick on Thursday, and not which team will actually make the selection.
Barring any jaw-dropping changes in the next 30 or so hours, Hunter will be the No. 2 pick in the NFL draft, and it's hard to imagine the Browns and their analytically driven front office passing on a player capable of being a game-changer on both sides of the ball. Hunter isn't just considered the best wide receiver in the class, he's also viewed as the best cornerback.
Not only did he manage over 1,200 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns last season while putting up 11 contested catches and averaging 2.51 yards per route run, he also picked off four passes and allowed just a 39.9 NFL QB rating on defense, per PFF. Hunter will go No. 2, which is why a $10 bet on it happening pays just a $1.11 profit.

💰 Best bet to draft Travis Hunter
🟤 No. 2 overall pick: Cleveland Browns (-900)
With the markets surrounding Hunter across our best sports betting apps looking at which pick he'll go at, and not which team will select him, there's almost no reason to bet on him going any pick other than No. 2. And even if you could bet on which specific team will make that selection, it seems incomprehensible to believe it would be any team other than the Browns.
Cleveland needs a reset as it moves away from the Deshaun Watson era, and who better to be the face of the franchise alongside Myles Garrett than a Heisman winner who can be a star at wide receiver or cornerback? Arguably, the most interesting aspect of this selection is what position Hunter will be announced as, or if he'll be announced at both.
While he contends he wants to play both ways in the pros, and he clearly deserves the chance, it looks like Cleveland will at least start him out as a full-time wide receiver who potentially moonlights on defense. The position he's announced as at the draft could make an impact on both the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year odds and the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year odds - Hunter could conceivably be a top-three favorite in both markets.
Regardless of what position he's announced at, it's so likely that he'll go No. 2 that I almost can't believe these odds aren't shorter. Even with this price paying such a little profit on a $10 winning bet, it doesn't seem wise to bet on Hunter to go any other pick than No. 2 on Thursday night.

🎯 Best long shot bet to draft Travis Hunter
🔵 No. 3 overall pick: New York Giants (+750)
This is the only long-shot option because there's almost no way Hunter doesn't end up a top-three pick. And if the Browns somehow pass on him for Carter, you best believe Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen will be jumping for joy when the New York Giants are on the clock with the third overall pick.
Hunter would give the Giants a second young elite receiver alongside Malik Nabers, and New York could still draft a QB like Jalen Milroe or Jaxson Dart with pick No. 34 in the second round, or trade back into the first round. Even if they didn't select a QB, the Russell Wilson/Jameis Winston combo would probably ensure New York is picking high in the 2026 NFL Draft, and that class will likely include Arch Manning.
Imagine Arch Manning stepping into the Big Apple as the QB who pulls the team out of the purgatory it's been stuck in since his uncle retired. And now imagine him doing it while throwing to Hunter and Nabers. That would certainly be good for John Mara and Steve Tisch's wallets.
Long story short, Hunter won't be here at No. 3, but if he is, the Giants will surely take him. If for some godforsaken reason the Browns pass on the the Heisman winner and further enrage their fanbase, a $10 bet pays a $75 profit if the Giants make the right choice and draft Hunter.
